FIVE PROPOSALS for new
housing construction went
before North Vancouver City
council Monday, and Ald.
Gary Payne said it indicated
that the recession was
definitely over for the City.

The proposals all met dif-
ferent fates, with some
awaiting final architects’
plans, others sent to various
City advisory committee, and
one scheduled for a public
hearing.

A proposed nine-unit
townhouse development for
223 East Keith Road goes toa
public hearing within a few
weeks. The City’s advisory
planning commission will
look into another townhouse
scheme for 14 units at 266,
268 and 272 East 4th St.

Meanwhile, a public hear-
ing was held before the
meeting on proposal to
rezone a lot at 334 West 13th
St. to allow a three unit
development on the site. The
rezoning has now passed
third reading, and only needs
final adoption.

City lots
back on
block

NO TAKERS were found by
North Vancouver City and
Dastrict for the yointhy-owned
former site of the Lonsdale
Private Hospital, so the pro-
perty is going back up for
sale.

The two mumcipal coun.
cils had originally authorized
that bids be accepted for the
property until September 28,
but City Land Agent B
Leong reported to council
Monday that no onc had sub-
mitted a bid.

Council voted to put the
property up for sale for six
months at a minimum upsct
price of $525,000.

Block East 12th St., in North
Vancouver City
