corner of Queens and Lons-

dale will be held next

Monday, November 21, at

7:15 pm in the North

Vancouver municipal hall.

Pan Pacific is the group
wishing to open a neighbor-
hood pub at that particular
‘corner. However, the hear-.
ing will not decide whether a:
pub will be permitted at the
site because district council
has no provision in its zoning
by-laws for pubs. So the Pan
Pacific group is hoping to
start out with a licensed
dining leunge at the location
in question, which has now
become a focal point for the
whole neighborhood pub ~
debate. - oT,

At the public hearing
council members and §tech-
nical staff will hear argu-
meats pro and con before
drafting a report for council
to consider at a later date. -

If the by-law permitting .
the licensed dining lounge is
eventually passed by council,
it is expected that Pan Pacific
will then apply to council, as
well as to the Liquor Licence

Board, to create a neighbor-
hood pub. =
