Wanting to settle on the coast, the Evers sold the tour restau- rants and moved to North Vancouver in: 1960, purchas- ing and operating the Lyan “Valley Florist Shop for several years.: The years 1961 to 1973 found Anne Marie as a Icgal secretary with Erwin Biedler on Marine Drive. That same year, 1973, she accepted the position of director of public relations, running the Canadian office for Guif Land ’ Company of Seattle. She also wrote and voiced her own radio and tele- vision commercials. With the recreational real estate market booming, Anne Marie decided to try her luck ar selling real estate. She became successful in this new venture, and in 1980 invested in a restaurant in Ferndale, Washington, the Monsieur Albert and the Chicken Coop, which she and Ai operated. “What vou think about, you bring about,” says Anne Marie. Two years later the Evers decided to return to the com- munity atmosphere and beauty of the North Shore, where Al accepted the position as chef at the Avalon Hotel. Then, on May 10, 1984 Anne Marie’s world collapsed. Al had a heart attack and passed away. - This was overwhelming sorrow for Anne Marie and their nvo children, David and Aren. She threw herself into”: © her work, but remembers: “it was exiremely difficult to keep my mind on selling real estate, having suffered such a major loss.” Being a spiritual person, practising and teaching the method of doing affirmations (prayers, wishes or goals, only they are more structured and specific) come naturally to Anne Marie. She has appeared on numerous radio stations in Canada and the U.S. speaking of the power of affirmations.
