Into its third year, the mixed four-part harmony choir for adults wil] hold its first rehearsal at the church on Sept. 13 at 7:30 p.m. Choir. member Joan Peters says the group performs a wide range of music, including Broadway, sacred and jazz. ‘‘We’re darn good amateurs,’” she says. New members are invited to come to the first meeting. Although they do not have to read music, new members will be asked to sing for director Iris Madore in order for her to get an idea of their voice quality. Delbrook offering fall fun A SEPTEMBER to Remember is the motto at Delbrook Recreation Centre. The line-up of after-school pro- grams includes tennis for all levels, teeny jazz, sketching, racquetball and squash lessons, guitar and of course, the famous line-up of junior chef workshops which in- cludes Japanese, Hawaiian, Mex- ican and French dishes — sampling included, too. The ever-popular claybuilding classes continue this fall and carly registration is recommended to avoid disappointment. A spooky Halloween party on October 31, 5:30 to 7 p.m. will delight the two to five year olds in the community. Face painting will also be held that day from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Lots of fun and exciting Christmas workshops for all ages will be held in November — learn to make candles, cards, tree deco- rations, wreaths and gifts, among other things. Learn to communicate your ideas THE LILLOOET Trails Club In- ternational Training in Com- munication has found a new home at the Edgemont Village library. The club, which has met at Yic's _ Restaurant for the past 12 years, is a non-profit training organization which teaches communication skills, leadership and_ self-con- fidence. “You learn to think on your feet,’” said Gaye McCance, im- mediate past-president of the club. “You can formulate thoughts quickly and be understood.’”* Members will meet at the library twice monthly, at 7 p.m. on Tues- days. The fall schedule will be as follows: Sept. 13, Oct. 1) and 25, Nov. 8 and 29 and Dec. 13. In January, the club will meet regularly on the first and third Tuesday of each month.
