recently to face various
charges:

Before Judge Doug Mass
in North Vancouver provin-
cial court on Oct, 9:

Paul John Damer, 35, of
North Vancouver, was jailed
60 days after he pleaded
guilty to driving while pro-
hibited on May 12, 1996 in
North Vancouver District.

Before Judge Ellen
Burdett in North
Vancouver provincial court
on Sept. 30:

Thomas Craig Ball, 38, of
North Vancouver, received
12 months’ probation after
he pleaded not guilty to
being intoxicated in public,
but instead pleaded guilty to
the lesser or included offence
of causing a disturbance by
shouting.

The original charge
stemmed from a May 27,
1995 incident in the]100-
block of West 22nd Street in
North Vancouver City.

John Calvin Klapwyk, 34,
of Vancouver, was jailed three
months and received 12
months’ probation after he
* pleaded guilty to stealing bat-
teries belonging to Wal-Mart
on Sept. 29 in North
Van--ouver City.

provincial court on Aug. 20:

six months’ probation after
she pleaded guilty to:

@ using a stolen credit card at
the Stay'n Save Motor Inn in
Richmond on Jan. 27;

A using the same stolen
American Express card the
next day at the Capilano
Motor Inn in North
Vancouver.

Miller was required to pay
$148.35 restitution to
American Express.

She was required to per-
form 30 hours of community
work service.

Before Judge Reginald
Grandison in West
Vancouver provincial court
on Aug. 8:

Chi Kwong Leung, 27, of
Vancouver, was jailed 30 days
after he pleaded guilty to
stealing a jacket belonging to
the Bay on Frb, 4, 1995 in
West Vancouver.

The jail sentence was to
run concurrently to another
sentence Leung was serving.

The judge ordered copies
of his comments and sentenc-
ing, be forwarded to the
immigration department,
including a recommendation
that Leung be deported.

Vancouver provincial court
on Aug. 1:

Matthew James Stride, 27,
of Bowen Island, was fined
$500 and received nine
months’ probation after he
was found guilty of:

on Feb. 5 in Bowen Island;

@ attempting to steal money,
the property of the Union
