Citizen groups can
make a difference

; You could have knocked our
Tenants Committee over with a
feather when Elizabeth Cull recent-
‘ly announced the amendments that
were being nade to the Real Estate
Act,

We had been pushing hard for
changes that would stop the current
wave of “fractional interest: sales”
that were threatening the existence
of rental units on the North Shore,
and were prepared for several more
months of “red tape wars.”

So we-were not prepared for
such good news, The direct input of
North Vancouver-Lonsdale’ MLA
‘David Schreck and the unanimous
Support shown by the ~ North
Vancouver: District Council - were
welcome. assistance and = much
appreciated, . ;

Some of the key changes are that

local government approval will now

be required by developers, and that

full disclosure statements,

Don't hide dangers
