Bomb case witness arrested WEST VANCOUVER Police arrested a witness last Friday who came to testify at the West Vancouver prelimingry hearing of a Vancouver man, Sean Morriss, who was charged with obstructing justice. Morriss was charged by police in July after a number of coffins were left at several Lower Mainland doorsteps, including one in West Vancouver. Police arrested witness Dara Maxwell Wilder and charged him for several alleged offences in contravention of the Income Tax Act. Wilder alsa faces a charge of allegedly dealing in fraudulent documents, He was escorted by police to Winnipeg Saturday to face the charges. Wilder had been wanted on a Canada-wide war- rant. WV man guilty of theft, B&E A WEST Vancouver man was sentenced to four months in jail Nov. 16 in West Vancouver provincial court. Christopher George, 21, pleaded guilty to one count of theft under $1,000 and one count of break and entry. The theft charge involved a July 24 incident when a Weedeater was stolen from Eaton’s, while the break and estry charge was in connection with an Aug. 5 break-in in the Jacobs Crescent area. Local man jailed 10 days A 25-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver man was sentenced to a 10-day jail sentence Nov. 25 in North Vancouver provincial court. Kenneth Wayne Eckman pleaded guilty to driving while pro- hibited by a court order in connection with an Aug. 12 incident on the South Fraser Way near Matsqui. in addition Eckman was given one year probation. Eckman also pleaded guilly to a charge of fraud in connection with 2 Jan. 20, 1988 incident in the Cranbrook area which involved defrauding ICBC of money in excess of $1,000. Judge R.D. Grandison fined Eckman $2,000 for the offence. Probation breach lands man in jail A NORTH Yancouver man was given a five-day jail sentence Nov. 14 in North Vancouver provincial court. Edward Allan Waterworth, 21, pleaded guilty to breaching his probation (wo days after it was ordered by Judge J.B. Paradis in connection with a narcotics offence. Waterworth failed to stay out of the North Vancouver city area bounded by 13th St. and St. Georges Ave., and Lonsdale Avenue and 17th Street, as ordered by his probation. Thieves lift 1,000-Ib. propeller NORTH VANCOUVER RCMP are seeking information on the whereabouts of a large ship propeller stolen Nov. 11 from J & J Propeller located at 338 East Esplanade. The propeller weighs 1,000 pounds and is worth about $3,000. The Osborne four-beaded propeller has ‘Cates X° stamped on the blade.
