finishing sixth in the team stan-
dings at the B.C. championships
last weekend but did not manage
to place in the top three.

Other than their third place
finish in 1983, it is the highest
placing ever for Coach Barry
Callaghan’s matmen.

The Eagles scored 48 team
points. Rebron of Campbell River
won with 71, followed by Ab-
botsford with 65, Charles Tupper
of Vancouver 56, Port Moody 52
and Kelly Road from Prince
George at 49.

Individually for Carson
Graham: Grade 12 heavyweight
Calvin McDonald finished second
to take the silver medal at that
weight class for the second straight
year. Ryan White, a Grade 11 in
the 70 kilograms division, placed
third.

Fourths were picked up by

Sherman Kong at 48 kg, Balraj
Duhre at 5! kg, Jeff Chalmers at
57 kg, and Giulio Decotiis at 74
kg.

Kong and Duhre are both in
Grade 10; Chalmers and Decotiis
are in Grade 11.

Chartie Bruce, another Grade
10, earned fifth in the 60 kg class.

Two Grade nine Balmoral
wrestlers, Lach Fergusson in 54 kg
and Matt Shaughnessy in 74 kg,
won matches in the B.C. meet, al-
though they did not finish in the
top six wrestlers.

The wins did enable them to
surpass the Balmoral record of 24
wins in a season, however.
