With Sports Experts, Canada’s largest sports and leisure retail chain, Bourke and her 25 staff members are plugged into [IC- Intersport International Corp., the largest world-wide sports and leisure buying retail group, with 3,500 member retailers in 16 coun- tries. “The buying group gives us more buying power, which translates into iower prices to the consumer. We also have exclusive access to a lot of name brand equipment and clotning nor available in other stores,"’ said Bourke. The North Vancouver store is a full service sports store including equipment servicing on everything from skis and bikes to racquets. Fully one half of the retail space at the store is dedicated to display- ing the latest trends in sportswear fashions. But it’s not all fash. Bourke says the store's siaff, regularly trained by manufactur- er's reps, is always on top of what’s hot on the cutting edge of sporting goods and services pro- duct knowledge.
