Once again, Flicka gymnasts had a good day, winning several individual and team awards. In the pro- vincial level for 12 and older, Chantal Murata was the win- ner, with Alisa Morris of Sur- rey second. Other Flickas competing were Analise Oseen, Robin Bone, and Nicol Tschol, who placed 3rd, 4th, and 10th, respec- tively. In the younger divi- sion, Flicka won four of the top five places, with Jennifer McKenzie first, Kim Gilbert third, Aparna Ray fourth, and Stacey Ogilvie fifth. A banquet was held at the Ca- nyon Gardens with over 100 people attending after the competition. With the trials and invita- tional competitions out of the way, Flicka Gymnasts set their sights on the Provincial Championships, held in Richmond, at the end of March. In the open category, Chantal Murata was the win- ner over her B.C. Winter Games rival, Monica Nemeth. Other Flicka gym- nasts in the Open category and their placings are as follows: Pattie Furniss fifth, Robin Bone eighth. In the tyro category, (under 14) Flicka Gymnasts competing included Analise Oseen 10th, Jill Wilson 14th, and Nicol Tschol 25th. Argo competitors (under 12) in- cluded Jennifer McKenzie 3rd, Aparna Ray 7th, Michelle Hutchinson 10th, and Stacey Ogilvie 12th. In midget competition, (under 10) two Flicka gymnasts com- peted and did very well. Lara Pilla finished second, with Kim Gilbert finishing third. Flicka's top level gym- nasts, the Elite Stream com- peted April 12 and 13 at the B.C. Elite Championships at U.B.C. This competition was also the trials for the Na- tional Championships, to be held in Victoria May 16 to 20. Hearing Problems?
