Returning to a decade past

WHEN THE Avalon’s first customer Michael
Cartwright returned to the North Vancouver hotel
this year and showed his waitress a set of receipts
officially signed by owner Charles Diamond,
marked 001, 002 and 003 from January, 1963,
made the hotel a little nostalgic for the 60s.
