LITTLE THINGS MEAN A LOT

A house that’s properly prepared for selling is worth more.

Getting it ready is a matter of smail details rather than big projects.
First step is to dust, clean, and scrub EVERYTHING. Put 100-watt bulbs
im stairwell fixtures and make sure the doorbell works. Fix dripping
faucets and improve plumbing to increase water pressure.

Adjust doors and windows so they apen easily. Replace broken tiles in
floors and walls: repaste loose wallpaper. Check screens and win-
dowpanes, weatherstripping and storm windows and doors.

if carpeting is worn, now's the time to pick it up and buff your floors.
Paint the cellar floor.

Now check the outside. Paint all the exterior doors. If walkways get
muddy. replace with crushed stone. Repair any cracks or defects in the
foundation.

Nardest job of all: get rid of dying plants. Bedraggled begonias make
the whole place droop.
