You're a rat!

ANIMALS! They really do bring out the beast in

us, don’t they?

With all the howling about
wolves, seals, whales, I'd like
to take the opportunity to
point out that this is the Year
of the Rat in the Chinese

Who speaks up for the rat?

In case you aren’t aware of
this, the rat is known to
biologists as the next most
human-like creature on
earth. That’s why they make
such excellent laboratory
subjects.

Sacrifice? Something like
20 million rats surrender their
little lives in labs around the
world every year to make ex-
istence more bearable for us
humans.

There were times in history
when the rat was far better
treated than now. During the
Middle Ages, for instance,

ing found guilty of four counts of failing to comply
with the Income Tax Act.

Mark E. Grimwood,
1230-235 Keith Road in West
Vancouver, was tried despite
his failure to appear in court
to face the charges.

A not guilty plea was
entered on his behalf by the
coun, the trial continued,
and the guilty verdict was
handed down.

Grimwood, who was
charged with four counts of
failing to comply with an
order to provide information
to Revenue Canada, was
sentenced to a $200 fine on
each count.

save a baby duck calmly start gnawing at the ropes...

against rats?

five days in jail for each of
the four counts.

If he defaults on payment
of the $800 in fines, he faces
further time in jail.

According to Revenue
Canada, Grimwood faced
similar charges on May 4 of
last year.
