Into its second printing, Stolen Secrets reveals the private culinary treasures of Zaste’s friends, family and co-workers, interspersed with preparation hints gleaned from the author’s years of experience in the tun copies sold out now, Zaste plans to have a second run of about 2,000 professionaily printed. **A second volume of the cookbook is definitely being plan- ned. I have really enjoyed doing this,’ says Zaste. Stolen Secrets has sold well at local craft fairs and is available at Baron’s Books at Lonsdale Quay, the Readers’ Retreat, Quality Meats and Venice Bakery. Zaste, who is originally from Dawson Creek, has lived with her family in Lynn Valley for nearly 20 years. kitchen. The book features easy-to- prepare, kitchen-tested recipes that require few specialized ingredients. Some of her favorites include Turkey Soup, Broccoli Bisque, a fancy sandwich recipe from a friend and a Crumb Cake recipe (circa 1930) that came from some- body’s mother. Harder-to-prepare dishes, such as cabbage rells, are illuminated with detailed istructions. Zaste took a course on produc- ing cookbooks, but found it discouraging because it warned of the enormous amount of work in- volved. ©. “They were right — it is a lot more work than you would think,’ says Zaste.
