a fashion which appears
to be sweeping the nation.

daring new shorter length,

. the dress gave Mrs. Moore
a perfectly fashionable
boyish figure, which was

accentuated by her newly
cropped hair.

Mrs. Moore informed
the ladies that it was she
herself who had sewn the
fine frock, from a pattern
after a design by
Gabrielle Chanel, the
French couturiere who is
setting Parisian society
on its ear by sewing up
the chicest suits in the
most humble of fabrics

such as knitted jersey. Of

course, the famous cou-
turiere is also designing
the most luxurious bead-

encrusted evening dress-
es and trenchcoats with
sable linings — which,
sadly, are nat available to
us here in Canada. We are
fortunate, however, that in
