I casually asked one of the onlookers who had ie and all the happiness in my body fled to that darkness. I ha id always been an admirer and have to admit to having quite a boyhood crush on her. As the years passed the crush turned into respect and admiration of an amazing woman. The pit in my stomach opened instantly. The next day I was speaking to a friend about the accident. He and his wife were at a house party when they heard the news; tears were shed. Over the fast few days I have spent much time thinking about the ‘Princess, partly because of the media but mestly of my own volition, It scems to me that this is my gener- ation’s JFK. The Western World has lost its crown jewel, the world-an icon, and I have lost more of the innocence of my youth.
