While al! lanes have reopened, more work remains to be done on the subdéeck, however, workers can approach the sites from under the bridge. Although some activity will be conducted during off-peak daytime periods, the majority of the work will be carried out at night to minimize delays to traffic. Cyclists are advised that as part of the ongoing work, the east sidewalk will be closed for two days on Thursday, August 8th and Friday, August 9th, 1996. Full completion of the Second Narrows Bridge Deck Rehabilitation project is expected by mid-December. The Ministry of Transportation and Highways would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation during the construction delays experienced over the past two month .
