Drug charges A NORTH Vancouver man pleaded guilty to possessing - marijuana in North Vancouver City, in connection with a Sunday, Feb. 21, incident. Shayne Hawkes, 19, was fined $50 in North Van- couver provincial court on Friday, April 16, Hawkes also pleaded guilty to driving without a valid driver’s licence and driving on Lonsdale Avenue without lights after sunset. The driving incidents occurred on Oct. 19, 1992. Hawkes was fined a total of $150 in connection with the driving charges. Hawkes was originally to appear in court to face nar- cotics and motor vehicle charges on Wednesday, March 31. A bench warrant was issued after he did not attend court. False report A 38-YEAR-OLD North Vancouver woman received six montis’ probation in connection with the false report of a hit-and-run accident. JoAnn Marion Primeau pleaded guilty to causing ’ RCMP Const. Glenda Harris to initiate an investigation by reporting a false hit-and-run accident on Tuesday, Feb. 9, in North Vancouver City. In addition to probation, Primeau is required to per- form 30 hours of community work service by June 30. Judge Jerome Paradis sentenced Primeau in North Vancouver provincial court on Wednesday, Apri! 21. Thief jailed A 45-YEAR-OLD man was jailed for 14 days in connec- tion with the theft of a botde of Aqua Velva. Paul Daniel Friesen, of no fixed address, pleaded guil- ty to the incident, which occurred at a 7-Eleven store in North Vancouver City on Monday, April 19, Friesen also received 12 months’ probation. He is not to go to a 7-Eleven store in B.C. during the term of his probation.
