The accounting firm of Tierney and White has donated $2,500 towards a scholarship for students studying finance in the business - management program. That dona- tion will be matched by the pro- vincial government to create a $5,000 endowment. ‘Income from the fund will be awarded annually as a student scholarship. Meanwhile, B.C. Hydro has shown its commitment to its “Partuers in Education’’ paign by initiating a second Capilano College scholarship. The Crown corporation has do- nated $2,500, to be matched by ’. the Provincial Matching Eadow- ment Prograns to create a fund of $5,000. Income‘ from the fund will be awarded as an annual schoiarship for a business administration stu- lent. BCIT AWARD - CARSON GRAHAM Secondary School graduate Benjamin Wight. has been awarded the B.C. In- stitute of Technology’s (B.C.I.T.) President’s Entrance Award. The $5,708 award was recently presented to Wight by B.C.I.T. president John Watson at a special ceremony. The award, equal to a full- year’s tuition, is presented to stu- dents entering B.C.1.T. trades and technology programs directly from B.C. schools. The business used to be called Robert Bryan Hair Design and has been a fixture at the corner of Lonsdale Avenue and Third Street in North Van- couver for 16 years.
