The West Van Rockets came out $650.00 richer following four days and six games of gruelling com- petition by taking second place money in the Silver Division of Molson’s Senior Men’s World Hockey Championship which concluded Easter Sunday at Queens Park Arena. Rocket Steve Stuart garnered in- dividual honours with the Good Sportsmanship Award, collecting 15 points during the series without a single penalty. Twenty four teams from the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Sunshine Coast, Tacoma and Seattle competed in the excellently run event which featured some of the fastest, cleanest and most en- tertaining hockey to be seen in the area. During the awards presentation Sunday night the West Van Rockets received special com-_ mendation from Games Chairman Dave Rainville for the “sportsmanship and perseverence displayed by the West Van team throughout the games”. West Van got off to a disappointing start in the series, losing out to the North Deita Eagles in a shoot-out. In that game the Rockets owned a com- fortable 3-0 lead going into the third period but the Eagles erupted for two goals midway through the frame and then netted the equalizer with only 49 seconds remaining. But the West Van crew bounced back, knocking off the McLelland Loggers 5-2 in their second game, eking out a 4-3 win over the Delta Jets in their third game, then earning their way to the final by beating out the Port collision repairs - body painting Complete foreign & domestic auto body service by skilled technicians specializing in foreign cars Mercedes, Volvo, BMW ~~ COACH --" (OLLISION REPAIRS LID.
