The streak began with a 2-2 tie against North Van CSL. at North Van on Feb. 23. Alex Cameron scored twice for the Wolves, while team-mate Steven Hodges had two assists. Wolves’ goaltender Chris Begin made an outstanding recovery in the game after undergoing a 10-1 massacre at the hands of the North Shore Winter Club (NSWC) Kings the week before. The second game in the Wolves’ Streak was a 4-3 victory over Hollyburn on March 2. Cameron again led the Wolves’ offense with had one goal and two assists. Fred Baines tied the game before the period ended with a short- handed goal that demoralized the Canadians. A rash of Canadians’ penalties late in the third period proved their downfall, as Baines and Francis tallied powerplay goals less than two minutes apart. Frank Hawrychuk put the game out of reach a minute later. In other play-off action, the Drillers came from behind with two late third-period goals by Brian Wallace and Larry Brown to edge the Old Crows 4-3. - Don Langford opened the scor- ing with a low screen shot early in the first and Ed Reimer tied the score late in the period. Rick Walton put the Drillers back on top midway through the second period, and Ron Brown tied the game later in the period. Midway through the third period, Bud Robertson gave the Crows the lead for the first time. The Crows weathered a short- handed situation and were close to an upset win when Wallace scored from a scramble. Two minutes later Brown stole the puck at the Crows’ blue fine and beat Crows’ netminder Bill Swint on a breakaway. With their best offensive display of the season the Old Buzzards dumped the Warriors 5-1. The Blues finished se- cond in the league and defeated Grandview in the playoffs.
