(Terry Peters photo) West Vancouver firefighters are spending much of their spare time cutting and splitting firewood which they are selling at $60 a pickup load. It’s not that the firemen are looking for a way to supplement their salaries - they're doing it all for charity. The firemen are cutting alder which has been donated to them by British Pacific Properties, under permit of the District of West Vancouver. By early this week, before they'd even started cutting, they had received orders for about 40 truckloads and were still welcoming more. Orders for firewood at $60 a truckload - estimated at about three-quarters of a cord - can be placed by calling 922-9314.
