Here's the rundown on the
significant new entries:

.° Cadillac
"The: biggest ‘news is the arrival
‘of the all-new De Ville sedan and

its performance-oriented version,

the De’ Ville Concours. The new
De Ville is longer, wider, roomier,
and offers more features. and
performance than its popular
predecessor model.

The conservative, traditional
looks remain, but the re-
engineered body — based on the
Seville platform -— along with
variable-assist steering and
speed-sensitive suspension, should
do wonders in the ride-and-
handling department.

The base model is still pulled by
the proven 200-horsepower 4.9-
litre V8 engine, but the sportier
Concours sedan is powered by the
highty acclaimed Northstar V8
32-valve engine with an impressive
270 horsepower (hp).

The same Northstar engine, by

the way, is now standard on the

base Seville and Eldorado.

The Allante and coupe version
of the De Ville are no longer
available. ~

Chevrolet
GM's largest division has been
criticized lately because of lack of

new products coming on stream,
