The civic centre site adviso- ry group worked through a process with consultants from Bakee McGarva Hart between November and March to zero in on a possible future tor development between 21st and 22nd Street on the north side of Marine Drive. The West Vancouver Civic Centre is part of an overall $25 million —_ Recreation Facilities Master Plan. Phasing of the project fore- sees the foliowing sequence of development: @ upgrades to the ice arena; 2 upgrades to the seniors* centre; @ temporary relocation of the childcare wing; @ demolition of the childcare wing; : @ construction of the aquatic centre expansion; B development of civic centre perimeter parking; temporary relocation of existing recreational programs; @ demolition of the existing community centre; @ construction of the new - 40,000 sq. ft. centre in its : place, as well as a plaza, park- - ing and landscaping.
