WEST VANCOUVER School -

District 45 lost one of its most
dedicated teachers. Monday
morning when Ted Pelly suc-
cumbed to .a~ still-undeter-
mined.virus. He was 48.

‘Born in Kelowna, Pelly moved
“west. following -high school to
attend Simon. Fraser University,
where he competed as a member of
the SFU swim team. He started his
teaching career at Sentinel in 1973.

“What I'll miss most about Ted
is that no matter what happened on
the field, the kids came first with
him,” said Sentinel teacher. and
football . coach’ Dave : Ruzycki.
“There's nothing Ted didn’t

In addition to his bench duties
at Sentinel. Pelly spent five years
coaching Mt. Seymour Rayals soc-.
cer team. Pelly was also an accom-
plished triathlete.. water skier,
snow skier and marathon. runner,
the highlight of which ‘was his
completion of the Vancouver
Marathon.

Funeral arrangements were not
available to press. time. Pelly: is
survived by two boys, Tod, £7 and
Reid, 15, and their mother Pat.
