A naturalist guide will lead par- ticipants on forest trails to look for fir cones, learn berry fore, and find out about squirrels and other _wildlife that depend on nature’s harvest. . : -. During. the walk everyone will have an opportunity to taste nutty seeds that are favorites with squir- rels_ and chipmunks. The guide will answer questions and provide helpful information along the way. . Participants will discover how plants scatter their seeds and learn how natives and. settlers cooked with them to flavor traditional foods. Children will have an opportun- tiy to enjoy ‘thands-and-knees” activities using magnifying glasses to search for ‘‘seedy’’ characters with interesting faces. The Wild Berries, Nuts and Seeds Program is sponsored by the Greater Vancouver Regional District (GVRD), and runs from 1 to 3 p.m. The program fee is $3 per per- son and all ages are welcome.
