THLE FOLLOWING are the
scheduled road closures and
detours for the coming week in
North Vancouver District and Ci-
ty, West Vancouver District and
along area highways.
North Vancouver District:

*Dollarton Highway
Reconstruction:
Road construction in progress
along vurious sections of Dollar-
ton Highway. Occasional detours.
Motorists should use Mount
Seymour Parkway as an alternate
route.

Open to local traific only.

® Mountain Highway:
Street to St. Stephens PI.:
Installation of concrete sidewalk
on east side. Single-lane traffic
northbound.

© Marine Drive: McKay Ave. to
Capilano Road:
Asphalt repairs in progress. Most
work is performed at night start-
ing at 10 p.m. Single-lane traffic
in both directions. Some work will
be performed during the day in-
volving sidewalk repairs on both
sides. Single-lane traffic ez5:-
bound.

@ Lloyd Ave./Gladwin Drive to
26th Street:
Installation of watermain,
traffic only.

North Vancouver City:
No major road closures

West Vancouver District:

«* Ambleside Revitalization Pro-
ject:

Work contiaues in the
Ambleside business district on the
area’s revitalization project. Road
closures will occur in various loca-
tions, particularly in the areas one
block north and south of Marine
Drive between 13th and 18th
streets.

Public cooperation is requested
during ihe project, and motorists
are asked to obey both traffic
control devices and personnel.

Sidewalk construction in pro-
gress on Headland Drive from
Meadfeild Road to Sprucefeild
Road.

e@ Eyremount Drive:

Road construction and water-
main replacement on Eyremount
Drive from Crestline Road to
Millstream Road. Will cause road

Boys’ boat
stolen

TWO HORSESHOE Bay boys are
facing a summer on dry land after
their boat was stolen Monday
night from the government wharf
in Horseshoe Bay.

Sean, 15, and Christian, 11, are
**devastated” by the loss of their
boat, said their dad, Al Rousseau.

The two boys managed to raise
the $2,200 for the boat, an 11%-
foot Orca with a 25 horsepower
Mercury outboard, after a year
and a half of mowing lawns,
delivering papers and washing
dishes at a focal restaurant.

Sean said they’d only had the
boat in the water for a week be-
fore he went to the wharf Tuesday
morning only to find it missing.

“*] waited a year and a half for
it. I only used it about 10 times,
then some jerk came and took it,”’
said Sean.

Any information about the
missing boat should be reported to
the West Vancouver Police
Department.

way):

There will be 15-minute closures
along the Squamish Highway %
kilometre to 15 kilometres north
of Horseshoe Bay between 8:30
am. and 3:30 p.m. Monday to
Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to
12 p.m. on Fridays until further
notice. Motorists can expect minor
delays.
