North Vancouver District Dollarton Highway Reconstruc- tion: Road construction in progress. Single-lane traffic during non-peak travel times with occasional detours along Strathcona Road. Mount Seymour Parkway (Mount Seymour Road to Brockton Cres- cent): Construction of right turn and ac- celeration lane for one block east of Roche Point Drive. Minor delays may be encountered by per- sons entering and leaving the golf course parking lot. Mount Seymour Beautification Project: Excavation for median and curb and gutter installation. Single-lane traffic in effect in both directions also during peak travel times. Construction speed limit in effect at all times. Redwood-Pinewood-McBride Crescent: Local improvement reconstruction and storm sewer installation. West Vancouver District Ambleside Revitalization Project: Work continues in the Ambleside business district on the area's revitalization project. Road closures will occur throughout the area, particularly in the area one block north and south of Marine Drive between 13th and 18th streets. The district is asking for the public’s cooperation while the project is taking place, and motorists are asked to obey both traffic control devices and person- nel. Mathers Avenue, between the 2000 and 2100 blocks will be closed for approximately six weeks due to watermain replacement work. Department of Highways Squamish Highway: Expect 20-minute delays 14 to 17 km. north of Horseshoe Bay due to rock scaling and blasting until March 30. HAWKSHAW CITY CLERK OPEN FIRES BANNED IN THE CITY QF NORTH VANCOUVER The Council of the Corporation of the City of North Vancouver adopted Bylaw No. 6082 on February 5, 1990 which bans open burning in the City of North Vancouver. This bylaw, with two minor exceptions, eliminates incinerator burning and the backyard burning which took place in the Spring and Fall. The present permits for incinerator The Council felt that a section for special occasion bonfires and necessary burning for Fire Department training be retained in the bylaw. The special occasion bonfire is by special permit from the Fire Chief and may include bonfires for organizations such as the Boy Scouts, Girl Guides and special events that may arise from time to time.
