THERE’S A new way for
charitable organizations in this
community to raise moncy for
worthy causes.

Fundraise Canada enables the
members of church groups, sports
associations, service clubs and
other non-profit organizations to
generate cash to support their pro-
jects, without investing a great deal
of time and effort.

Says program director Barbara
Grossman: ‘Fundraise Canada
provides cash rebates to non-profit
gtoups in return for the proofs of
purchase from a wide variety of
well-known packaged goods,
whose manufacturers contribute to
refund dollars.

“All the participating members
— and their friends, neighbors and
families — have to do is choose
from among the list of par-
ticipating brand name _ products
when they shop every week for
food, beverages and other house-
hold items.’’

Many groups on the North
Shore could qualify for participa-
tion in Fundraise Canada. There
are more than 25,000 clubs and
organizations across the country
which could be eligible.

Their combined membership is
more than 20,000,000 people — a
tremendous force for doing good
in communities nation-wide, and a
very large potential market for the
products which support Fundraise
Canada.

Grossman says that, ‘For the
brand name products involved,
this is a powerful way to reach a
great number of people across the
country at a very reasonable cost
per contact. Not only do they get
the benefit of an effective promo-
tional program, the brands have
the added benefit of aiding
charitable work in communities
across Canada.”’ .

_ That means Fundraise Canada is
an important promotional vehicle
for the manufacturers. By offering
their products through this pro-
gram, they reach people more ef-

fectively than through alternative . |

marketing methods.

However, Fundraise Canada of-
fers them another impo: tant bonus
other means can’t provide — the
increased public goodwill that
comes from making financial con-
tributions. . :

Redemption is straight-forward:
members of the group (and their
associates) clip UPC symbols (or
other required proofs of. purchase)
from the packages or labels of the
name brand products on the Fun-
draise Canada shopping list. They
pool their proofs and submit them
monthly for immediate cash. From
time to time, special offers enable
groups to increase their earnings. °

“*A typical group could earn
from $2,000 to $3,000 in their first
year with Fundraise Canada — or
more, depending on their ability to
clip and return the proofs.
Generally speaking, it will be ‘the
