LIONS GATE Hospital is one step closer to the expansion of its maternity ward following the presentation
ofa $3,325 cheque from the North Shore Shriners. The money, which was raised through the Shriners’

Award nominations open

NOMINATIONS ARE open for
the annual YWCA Women of
Distinction Awards.

The Vancouver YWCA honors
women who have made a distinc-
tive and significant contribution to
the community. Nominations for
the awards close on Feb. 10.

The 1988 awards saw 64
nominations submitted to the
YWCA by associations,
businesses, groups and individuals.

The awards dinner will be held
May 11. Proceeds from the dinner
support YWCA community service
programs for women and children.
