NORTH SHORE science fairs give local students a chance
to learn and have fun at the same ‘ime. A youngster from
Hiliside Secondary School, photo left, finds out how cold
liquid nitrogen can be at a school demonstration with UBC
retired science professor Jack Young, seen in the centre.
Also in the area of science, a Space Day was held at
Highland School last Wednesday. Guest speaker for this
day was Jim Bernath, an expert on the NASA space pro-
gram.

SPACE DAY proved to be popular with North Shore stu-
dents when amateur astronomer and NASA space program
expert Jim Bernath visited local schools recently.
