Merchants feel singled out By TERRY LAVENDER Deep Cove residents turned out in force Monday night to applaud a North Vancouver District council move to limit building heights their community — but several Cove merchants slammed the proposed restriction’ as discriminatory. An overflow crowd of more than 100 Cove residents and merchants turned out for the District public hearing on a zoning amondment that would effectively restrict com- mercial buildings on the north side of Gallant to two storeys in height. Most speakers praised District council for the amendment — which still requires final approval — though several said it came too late and others criticized it for only applying to the north side of Gallant in Decp Cove's downtown area.
