Trial for Lynn Valley man ‘Murdered sister’ case opens in N A 19-year-old Lynn Valley . man has been sent for trial by judge and jury at Vancouver County Court, charged with the murder of his younger sister. Mark Jacklin was remand- ed in custody after a preliminary hearing in North Vancouver Provincial Court Monday. Seventeen year-old Carol- Ann Jacklin had been found by her father, Gordon Jacklin, lying on the kitchen floor of the family home, April 7, with multiple stab wounds. Neighbors had said at the time that most of the Jacklins —there dre nine children in the family—were out at the time of the tragedy and that Gordon Jacklin had returned after taking a son to a soccer game. Judge C.I. Walker granted an application for a ban on publication of evidence at the preliminary hearing. Gordon Jacklin appeared calm and composed as he gave evidence at the Monday hearing, while another of his daughters kept a tight grip on her mother’s hand in the public seats.
