TWO NORTH Shore residents
were awarded Canada Volunteer
Award Certificates of Merit
recently to recognize their con-
tributions to the well-being of their
fellow Canadians.

West Vancouver’s Charles Nash
was selected for the award by fed-
eral Minister of Health and
Welfare Jack Epp in recognition of
his long service to Vancouver’s
Shaughnessy Hospital.

Nash, as the Shaughnessy Hos-
pital Foundation chairman, has
helped build a strong volunteer
organization for the hospital and
was instrumental in the success of
its first fund-raising campaign to

was recognized for his work in
helping Canada’s war veterans and
their families by providing
counselling and investment advice.
