WEST VAN showcases the arts when it mounts the fifth
annual Harmony Arts Festival next week, Aug. 7-13.
There will be something for every taste and every age group
promises festival publicist Ruth Payne. Art, music, crafts, dance
and theatre arts are represented. Best of all, admission to every
event is free. What follows is just d snapshot, for a complete
‘schedule of events, visit the Ferry Building Gallery at the 15th
Sucet pier or phone 925-7290.
® Studio tours: North Shore artists invite you into their creative
Spaces to view works in progress. Join a bus tour, which leaves
from the Ferry Building Gallery, or pick up a guided tour map
from the festival information booth in front of the gallery, The
tours run Friday, Aug. 11, 12-8 p.m.. and Saturday. Aug. 12, 10
a.m.-4 p.m. Stop in on 14 artists including Monica and Barry
Shelton and Stuart Slind. Call 925-7270 to register for bus tours.
@ Juried group show: The varied works of 23 North Shore
artists will be on display at the Ferry Building Gallery. An artist's
dialogue, Monday, Aug..7. 11 a.m., will feature a panel of artists:
the official opening reception, 6 to 8 p.m., features the Urbana
Jazz Band.
