Fashion grads host show

Tessmann’s colorful hand-painted
coats.

The North Shore designer will

be presenting her latest collection
of gastronomically inspired outer
wear at Fiat Mode IJ, a fashion
show at the Commodore Ballroom
Monday night.
’ Flaviri-Tessmann and the 19
other participating designers are
all graduates of Vancouver Com-
munity College’s (VCC) fashion
arts program.

“Pm really excited about the
trails we've all blazed,’’ she says

of the progress made by her
former classmates. ‘‘The fashions
are all over the map.”’

The designers, representing each
graduating class since the program
started in 1986, will present their
latest mini-collections at the
show.

Proceeds from the show will go
to the VCC fashion arts bursary
fund.

The Commodore Ballroom is
located at 870 Granville St. in
Vancouver. The show starts at 8
p.m. Tickets are $10, available at
the VCC Continuing Education
office, 250 West Pender St., or
$15 if purchased at the door.
