The new denim is given deep, rich color in shades of ox- blood, dark rust, forest green, ink blue and black. Another school project already under way is to make clothes look co-ed cool. Many of the fashions seen on campus could have been pulled from any closet, as guys and girls swap shirts, jackets, sweaters and even pants. Oversized flannel shirts with schoolboy plaids, western themes, paisleys, checks and blocked color are worn by both sexes. Loosely cut bermuda shorts in menswear tweeds and checks, in woo! or thick cotton canvas, are belted snugly at the waist because the unisex sizing allows them to fit anyone. They are cut long, often partially covering and sometimes fully hiding the knee. Cabie knit sweaters and car- Gigans are menswear classics that go from his closet to hers, and back again. They are especially versatile in the neutral shades, like cream, black and grey. A baseball cap is a co-ed must-have this season. it is best in felt or leather, maybe with a crest or in two tones. Sport it with ‘skirts and dresses instead of jeans, and you'll add new confidence to your school image. With your ca- . digan, sual pieces, sport a felt beret, also making a comeback. The black leather biker jacket gets pulled over anything on any- one. The tough- turned- trendy bomber varies only slightly in its design, referring to the number of zippers, studs and belt buckles it supports. Girls may stip it over a preppy pleated skirt, white shirt _ and tights, or sport the ‘‘dude- ette’’ look with oversized shorts, ° heavy soled oxfords, long car- baseball cap. * The “‘boyfriend’”’ jacket, a suit jacket that was borrowed from a boyfriend, father or brother, is considered a aew classic. _ The ~, suals.:. i . campus fashion, especialf thick cotton shirt -and- Bowling also influen stretchy’ pants, which | print, and full: bo Li ‘ntly on the go, rushing ‘t the library, :the’ cafeteria,’ . aftes-school sport, there. wear-everywhere’ : satisfies your practical 1 number one.
