Carson student chosen for trip

FORUM FOR Young Canadians,
an organization which brings stu-
dents from all parts of Canada to
Ottawa each year to discover how
government works, announced
recently that Graham Astbury of
Carson Graham Secondary School
will be one of some 500 students
participating in the 1989 program.
Students selected for the forum
program take part in a number of
interesting activities in the nation’s
capital — including actually sitting
in the Commons and Senate
chambers, visiting Government
House, and the Supreme Court of

SPIRITUAL SONGS of the
southern plantation fields come to
the North Shore Unitarian Church
on Sunday, Feb. 12.

Jubilee, the five-member group
of singers who drew audiences to
the Arts Club's longest running
production of Ain’t Misbehavin’,
will sing a selection of well-loved
black spirituals, some of which
have not been sung since the late
19th and early 20th centuries.

The original scores were origi-
nally performed by a group of
freed young blacks who toured the
