LORK a Wedtresdas, Masety 23, Nortth Short News N. Shore has more than one adult band Dear Editor: In regard to an article in the North Shore Now section of the Jan. 29 paper: Mr. Kevin Hamilton of the North Vancouver Alumni Band was quoted as saying that the band was ‘the only adult concert band on the North Shore.” This statement is not correct. The West Vancouver Band Association has operated an alum- ni band since 1969, In addition to this, they have operated a begin- ners adult band and a ‘Pops’ band. The Monday Night Concert Band is conducted by Stephen Toren. The Thursday Night ‘Pops’ Band is conducted by Peter Murray, and the beginners band is conducted by Tom Koven. The Concert Band and the “Pops'' Band perform many con- certs in the Lower Mainland and march in West Vancauver’s Com- munity Day Parade and Remem- brance Day Ceremony.
