Anyone wishing to join with them in giving thanks to God on October 14 is in- vited to attend. The Thanksgiving sermon will focus on expressing gratitude to God by follow- ing Christ Jesus. The service will also in- clude hymns, brief silent prayer and the Lord’s Prayer. Since Christian Science churches are lay churches, sermons are not written by ministers, they are composed of selections from the Bible, along with correlative passages from the Christian Science textbook, written by founder Mary Baker Eddy. Scheduled to begin at i a.m. the hour-long services will be held in North Van- couver at 185 East Keith Road and in West Van- couver at 714 20th Avenue.
