B.C. LIQUOR stores will now be supplying
samples of B.C. wines to promote sales and
let the public have taste the various products
before buying the wine. Inquiring reporter
asks people if they think liquor stores are the
place for wine tastings or not. Today’ S ques-
tion is: .

A LACK of off-street park-
ing in North Vancouver City
prompted Ald. Dana Taylor
to make a motion Monday
for free 90-minute parking
lots in upper and lower
Lonsdale.

Taylor said the parking
deficiencies on Lonsdale

ridor, but he added that new

ing shortfalls,

Giving examples of free
90-minute parking lots
operated in Santa Maria and
Santa Barbara, Taylor stated
the Californian cities have
demonstrated ‘with over a
decade’s experience through
the cooperation and en-
dorsement of their respective
business communities, that
city council cannot only
build 90 Minute Free Cus-
tomer parking lots and
structures, but operate them
at no cost to the municipali-
ty, show a= surplus and
revitalize the downtown
cores.””

Taylor requested in Mts
motion that city staff look
into the parking solutions of
the two American ities,
when considering alter-
natives to North Van-
couver's parking problem.
