While Noel Wright concluded (News, July #5) thar the latest scandal in the Vander Zalm gov- ernment would make voters cynical about all politicians, the Province editorial compared the scandal record between B.C., Quebec and Ontario. Rather than tabelling all politi- cians with Vander Zalm's brush, that comparison puts his Social Credit government alone in the corner where it belongs. As $ talk to voters in prepara- tion for the next election, 1 find that they are not turning cynical. They are simply patient as they wait for their turn to sat no to the Vander Zalm government. British Columbians deserve an alter- native. We have had enough of Vander Zalm imposing his values on peo- ple. We expect a higher standard. David D.
