Register kids for
ski programs

SEPTEMBER’S NOT too. early to think about registering your
ckitd in a ski pi according to Ken Eberhardt, coordinator of
the Tyee Ski Club at Grouse Mountain.

The Tyees wiil be register kids aged seven to 12 for the Nancy
Greene Ski League on Saturday, Sept. 30 from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in
guest services at the bottom of Grouse Mountain.

The Mount Seymour Ski Club will hold registration for its Nancy
Greene program Tuesday, Oct..3 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Seycove
School. The fali general meeting follows. For more information on
the Seymour club calf 929-3450.

Registration for the Nancy Greene program with the Cypress
Bowi Ski Club.can be done by mail until Dec. 15. For more infor-

TW NORTH Shore students are representing Canada this week at

the U.S.-Japan Friendship Inter-Collegiate Golf Championship.
In Japan this week are Niki Roberts and Scott Bennett — the

* only two chosen from across Canada for the tourney.

This summer, on the ander-19 junior girls golf circuit, Roberts,
18, achieved a handicap of seven. She placed third ia B.C. and
made the provincial team for the nationals in Nova Scotia where
she was sixth in Canada. .

Rugby Club went unrewarded when the local team lost to
Meralomas in 2 first division league game at Connaught Park

but were thwarted when they Meralomas intercepted them twice as

scored two further tries.

WEEK TWO of action in the Cozches Soccer. League produced
close scores with the feature match between C.K. Tires and Olym-
pia Goldcaps being 2 case in point.

O.K. Tires jumped out to a quick lead in the bard-fought, clean-
ly played contest with two goals by Tom Szerandes in the first
twenty minutes.

_ Bat Oly battled back as Mark Cassidy scored before half-time
and Heury Doukers tied up the score after the break.

It was almost the end of the match when Jokn Hird was able to
break through and notch the winner to give O.K. Tires the victory.

. Elsewhere in the league, Nordic F.C. aad Accountemps settled
for a rare 0-0 draw while Pemberton Station and Foster Pacific
also tied at 1-1; F.C. Germania defeated Coach House Spurs 4-1,
Swan Lager edged Mt. Seymour Ravens 1-0, Molsons downed
Candia Taverna 5-2, and Norvan Old-Timers scored two late goals
to beat Rangers F.C. 3-1.

SEAN MILLINGTON of North Vancouver was recently named
player of the week by the NAIA after the SFU Clansmen running
back rasked for 247 yards at the Shrum Bow} football game.

A Carson Graham grad, 6’2”’, 220-ponnd Millington heiged the
Clan defeat rival UBC Thunderbirds 41-27 in what has become the
traditional gradge match of the year.

in addition to his one-game rushing yardage, second only in Clan

. history to Orville Lee, Millington scored three touchdowns.
