THE NORTH Shore’s Dogwood Chorus will compete at a Western Ca- Ea
a nadian regional choral competition at Queen Elizabeth Theatre April
14 and 15. Last year, the Dogwood Chorus captured second place in
A the region 26 competition, involving choruses from B.C., Alberta and
Saskatchewan. The 34-member group, which performs barbershop
under the auspices of Sweet Adelines International, will compete wit
other choruses and quartets from the West. .

“HELLO OUT There’, the entry from West Vancouver Senior Second-
ary’s Performing Arts Department, won the Annual North Shore High
School Drama Festival for 1989. .

This classic play of loneliness and love by William Saroyan :vas chosen
by adjudicator Laurie Lyons as the best overall production of the 11

. presented at Presentation House during the week of February 20th.

Directed by acting teacher David Barker, the production also garnered
Best Performance by a male actor for grade 12 student Shawn Clements,
and commendations for actress Tanya MacPherson and actor Don Clark
also of grade 12. Others in the winning cast were Leslie Pomeroy, Pat
Jensen and Rob Mann. .
