Council awarded a paving

contract to Impcrial Paving
despite an appeal from B.A.
Blacktop for special con-
sideration for the contract.
Imperial Paving's low bid
for the contract was $61,000
less than the second-lowest
bid, from B.A. Blacktop.
Ald. Joan Gadsby told
council she had received a

letter from B.A. Blacktop
asking special consideration
since the company was based
in North Vancouver and
paid taxes to the district.
Municipal engineer John

Bremner also had received
a letter with the same re-
quest.

Bremner said there was no

reason not to award the con-
tract to Imperial as the low
