NV City rejects dancers

AUDREY WALKER Dance
Theatre will get no money
from North Vancouver City
council to travel up north for
the Prince Rupert Folkfest.
The  semi-professional
dance company will be in
Prince Rupert for the one
day festival on June 30, and
wanted North Van City Hall
to help defray the costs of
the tnp - which will be by
ferry for most of the dancers

and by plane for one of
them

But Audrey Walker

received no support for what

she termed “our cultural
people in North Van-
couver.”

Two members of council
were against giving money to
the group. There were only
four council members pre-
sent anyway and at least five
are needed to vote on money
matters, such as awarding a
grant.
