At the Mitre Tournament
held on Saturday, November
14 ali’ the’
champions were toppled
from their first positions.

In the C Division there
had.to be a play off between
Prince George and
Kamloops, Kamloops
winning the play off. This is
the first time in the ‘Mitre
*-tournament that an out of
~ town team have won. In the
.B Division a newly formed
‘team, Heat Wave fromi New

_{ Westminster, ‘walked away _

<with the cup. Cosmos from
Surrey, the reigning
champions came in second.
_In the A division -Pleaides
won as they scored the. most

' goals during the tournament.

Richmond came in second.

Capilano Netball Team
from the North Shore beat
Checkers in the A Division
by 1 goal. Of note was Bea
Skipper who is a marvellous
shooter and rarely misses a
ball.

The games were a huge
success and drew a nice
crowd of spectators who
began to learn the rudiments
of netball.

This weekend, over 170 Esso retailers in 67 B.C.
Communities will donate a cent a litre for every
litre of gas pumped during the Timmy’s
Christmas Telethon for crippled children.

Imperial Oil will match the donation penny
for penny to make a total of 2 cents per litre . .
