billions on defense

WASHINGTON (UPI) - The
Soviet Union will spend $100
billion on air defense
systems in the 1980s but U.S.
cruise missiles will largely
negate their effort, a high
ranking Air Force official
predicted Thursday.

“They cannot field a
system in the 1980s that can
stop the cruise missile but in
the 1990s they can nibble
away at the problem,” Lt.
Gen. Kelly Burke told a
breakfast meeting of defense
correspondents. Burke is the
Air Force’s top weapons
research officer.

“The Soviets are going to

shoot down Soviet bombers

Mystery Canadian
guilty of robbery

JACKSONVILLE, Fila.

Jacksonville bank was
sentenced to 15 years in
prison recently but

that they're still not
sure who he is.
