He directed (after firing Donald Crisp) and stars in this comedy with Kathryn McGuire. The Navigator was Keaton’s biggest moncy- maker earning over two million dollars in its initial release. The budget for the film was $212,000, includ- ing twenty-five thousand for rental of the SS Buford to cover ship, crew and el, Special introductery & Offer 8 @ COMEDY Fishing With Jobn (BRAVO Channei 28, 1:30 p.m.) Lounge Lizard jazz musician John Lurie hosts a six-part fishing series with celebrity guests produced by the Independent Film Channel (IFC). This week Tom Waits and Lurie fish for red snapper off the coast of Jamaica. Go to the IFC Web site for an interview with Lurie about shooting the show. At one point he’s asked “So you really do enjoy fishing?” — Lurie: “Yeah, mostly, unless J have to go fishing all the time. There was one moment in Thailand when I was fish- ing with Dennis (Hopper, the guest for upcoming episodes five and six set for airing in May) and whi weren’t catching anything and we weren’t talking and the boat wasn’t going any- where, and I just thought, “God, I hate this.” But mostly I loved doing the . show. What’s better than travelling to all these exotic places and getting paid to fish with my friends?”.
