BCAA prints
one millionth
street map

THE ONE millionth copy of
BCOANS street map oof Greater
Vancower and fraser Valles

The map. which is co-published
by BCAA and Canadian Car-
tographies Etd.. was first produc:
ed in 1983. Prior to Chat time a
sufficiently detailed mip wits not
in existence. BCAA approached
Canadian Cartographics bid. to
produce ao map that would meet
the association's standards.

Vhe map is currently in its third
edition ind) contains Vancouver,
all the majer urban centres tn the
Fraser Valley. intimate details of
downtown Vancouver and a trip
planning wap af che mainland
region fram Whistler to Manning
Park to Mt. Baker. Prior to 1983
members would) have required at
least two maps to obtain similar
intormation.

The current edition has aver
8,000 street names in the index
(more than 3,000 added since the
first printing im 1°83). The map
divides the Fraser Valley into one
Kilometre squares, providing a
handy reference for travellers.

BCAA expects that the one mil-
lionth map will arrive in one of
the association’s 17 service centres
Sy September of 1991. The map
has been specially marked and the
vueniber receiving it will also
receive a prize consisting of a
BCAA ‘map sack’’ and key chain
and a selection of maps produced
by Canadian Cartographies Ltd.
